National Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Antony Wit receive the Grammy Award for album with Krzysztof Penderecki’s compositions.  The 55thGrammy Awards gala took place on Sunday, 10th of February in Los Angeles Staple Center.  Wit’s Orchestra won in the category Best Classical Compendium.
The album includes pieces: “Fonogrammi”, „Koncert na róg”, „Partita”, „Przebudzenie Jakuba”, „Anaklasis” and „De natura sonoris”. It was realised by Naxos. Apart from the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Wit, soloists: Urszula Janik - flute, Jennifer Montone – horn and Elżbieta Stefańska – harpsichordist also took part in the recording.
Antoni Wit was nominated for the Grammy Award seven times. Together with the Philharmonic orchestra they recorded several albums with Penderecki’s music.
